First, choose the result you need
Calendar syncing between booking platforms and publishing a calendar for guests solve different problems. A display calendar does not update Airbnb, Vrbo or Booking.com, while platform imports are intended to move blocked dates into those booking calendars.
If avoiding overlapping reservations is business-critical, use each platform's own import tools or a channel manager with direct integrations. SingleCal is for combining exported availability into a clear public display; it does not write bookings or blocks back to a platform.
- 1
Block dates across booking platforms
Export each platform calendar and import the original feeds into the other booking platforms. Check each platform after a test block or reservation.
- 2
Show guests one availability calendar
Connect the original exports to SingleCal. It combines unavailable dates into one hosted page or website embed without replacing your booking listings.
Do not treat any iCal setup as instant. A date can remain visible as available until the source exports it and the receiving service refreshes the feed.
Before you connect the calendars
Make sure all feeds belong to the same separately bookable rental. If a house and an individual room can be booked independently, they need their own calendar strategy rather than being merged without checking how availability overlaps.
Open each booking platform in a separate tab and identify the listing you are connecting. Store the copied URLs somewhere private while you complete the setup, then remove them from notes or messages that other people can access.
- Use an HTTPS calendar subscription URL, not the public property listing URL.
- Airbnb and common iCal exports normally end in .ics; Vrbo links also include /icalendar/.
- Do not publish private export URLs in page source, screenshots, support messages or documentation.
- Calendar feeds carry blocked periods, not live prices, minimum stays, fees or complete booking rules.
- If a platform or property type does not offer calendar export, do not substitute a public listing URL.

Export the Airbnb calendar
Airbnb provides an export URL from the host calendar. Its current desktop instructions place calendar connections under the listing's Availability settings.
- 1
Open the listing calendar
In Airbnb hosting, select Calendar and choose the listing calendar you want to connect.
- 2
Open calendar connections
Choose Availability, then under Connect calendars select Connect to another website.
- 3
Copy the export
Copy the Airbnb calendar link. Keep this private and use it only in the trusted calendar service or platform you are connecting.
Airbnb says imported calendars update automatically about every three hours and can also be refreshed manually, subject to refresh limits.
Export the Vrbo calendar
Vrbo lets owners export the reservation calendar for each live property from the Owner Dashboard or mobile app. The steps below follow its current dashboard guidance.
- 1
Choose the property calendar
In the Vrbo Owner Dashboard, select the property, open Calendar and go to the Availability tab in Settings.
- 2
Open Calendar sync
Select Connect calendars, then choose Export calendar.
- 3
Copy the private URL
Choose whether tentative bookings should be included for your use case, then select Copy URL. A Vrbo export normally contains /icalendar/ and ends in .ics.
Vrbo cautions that tentative bookings should only be included when exporting to a private calendar, not when exporting to another booking site.
Export the Booking.com calendar
Booking.com calendar synchronization is managed in the property's extranet. Availability and menu labels can vary by property type and extranet version, so use Booking.com's own synchronization screen as the final reference.
- 1
Open the property calendar
Sign in to the Booking.com extranet, choose the relevant property and open its Calendar or Rates & Availability area.
- 2
Find calendar synchronization
Open Sync calendars or the equivalent calendar-connection option. If it is unavailable, check whether your property configuration supports iCal connections.
- 3
Copy the export link
Choose Export calendar and copy the private URL supplied by Booking.com. Keep the URL private and connect it only to the intended service.
Booking.com controls which dates its export contains and how often connected calendars are refreshed. Check the extranet after setup rather than assuming the connection succeeded.
Connect the feeds without creating a loop
For cross-platform blocking, connect each original export directly to the other booking platforms. For example, Airbnb should import the original Vrbo and Booking.com feeds; Vrbo should import the original Airbnb and Booking.com feeds. Follow the same principle for Booking.com when calendar import is available.
Avoid importing a platform's own export back into itself, and do not repeatedly pass an already imported or combined calendar between platforms. That can duplicate blocks, create confusing loops and make the source of an unavailable date harder to diagnose.
- 1
Name every connection clearly
Use labels such as Airbnb original, Vrbo original and Booking.com original so you can identify the source later.
- 2
Test one future date
Create a reversible block well in the future, wait for the receiving calendars to refresh and confirm the same night becomes unavailable.
- 3
Remove the test block
Reopen the date at its source and confirm that the change eventually reaches every connected platform.
If you need faster, monitored or guaranteed inventory synchronization, use a supported channel manager rather than relying only on iCal.
Create one availability calendar for guests
A guest-facing calendar should be separate from the network of imports used by booking platforms. Connect each original export to the same SingleCal rental. If any connected feed marks a night unavailable, SingleCal shows that night as unavailable.
The resulting hosted page or embed gives guests one place to check dates. It does not accept reservations, alter the source calendars or guarantee that a newly booked night has already reached every feed. Your selected booking listing remains the place to confirm current availability, price and terms.
- 1
Add the original exports
Connect the Airbnb, Vrbo and Booking.com URLs directly to one SingleCal rental rather than using a feed that has already imported the others.
- 2
Choose the booking destination
Link the calendar to the listing where guests should confirm live dates and complete their reservation.
- 3
Share or embed the calendar
Use the hosted SingleCal URL in messages and email, or add the supplied embed to your own website.
Common problems to check
Most calendar issues come from the wrong URL, a delayed source export or feeds being connected in the wrong direction. Work through these checks before reconnecting everything.
- The URL is a public listing page instead of a private iCal export.
- The export belongs to a different room, unit or property.
- A platform's own feed has been imported back into the same platform.
- A recently created booking has not yet reached the source export.
- The receiving platform has not completed its next scheduled refresh.
- A blocked date comes from availability rules that another platform does not reproduce.
- An old connection remains active alongside a replacement and creates duplicate blocks.
Never send a private calendar URL in a public forum or screenshot. If one is exposed, replace or revoke it through the booking platform when that option is available.
